Travels of Thelonious

Has anyone read Susan Schade's "Travels of Thelonious, The Fog Mound" I thought the friendship among the animals was a pleasant read, a utopia on the mound. Book 2 will have the evil animals attack, I'm sure. I enjoyed the switch from novel writing to comic strip panels, alternating from chapter to chapter. It will help the poorer readers in school get excited about reading a larger chapter book. Does anyone think it could be on the Mock Newbery List? I welcome a second opinion.

Thanks for suggesting this title, Diane. I have not yet read it, but the format looks very interesting. I've enjoyed other books by Susan Schade & Jon Buller, so I'm looking forward to reading this one.
