I enjoy Naylor's "boy vs girl books", and I'm glad she's writing for younger readers. There is always a moral to her stories, and a happy ending. In this book, Roxie has trouble with bullies at school. When they are lost and stranded on an island, the bullies depend and learn from Roxie (who learned survival techniques from an adventurous relative). I actually cheered at the rescue.
