I have not read this book, but was asked to post this note about it from Sue B. who's not able to post to the boards.
************************************************ French Toast, a White Cane and Memories by Laura Fay Robbie
Great book- target for grades 3 and up. Well written- inspirational nonfiction based on the life of a real little boy losing his eyesight to a rare and degenerative illness. One of the BEST children's books I've ever read (though I don't recognize the author at all)

I hope this post goes through! My name is Sue and I found this book a couple weeks ago. It is well written but the story itself is fantastic. I am hoping this book finds it's way out there- I would place it up there with "Sarah Plain and Tall" in many ways. If you want a book that will touch your soul, this is it. Thanks! Sue
