If he was born elsewhere and lives in the New York area, is Peter Sis eligible for Newbery/Caldecott? Could it be either/both?

This book is magnificent! The story is one that is exceptional and not always told. The illustrations are unique, black and white with splashes of color to emphasize.

I want it in my School Media Center.

I haven't seen the book yet, but I look forward to getting a copy.

I loved this one. It's an interesting story told through amazing pictures and writing about what it was like for Peter Sis growing up in communist Czechoslovakia.

It should be a contender for Caldecott, Newbery, and/or Printz awards.
