A great adventure story, a tall tale with wonderfully descriptive language.

I agree that this is a great addition to the non-fantasy adventure genre. I enjoyed the story and found the ancient culture aspect intriguing. I did find the written descriptions of the action hard to follow. I don’t think the writing was terribly strong.
