We must have this book on the list. It is beautifully written AND it can be enjoyed by younger readers. One of my favorite paragraphs:
"From her he learned to take harsh words and change them into bouquets of compliments. He learned from her that the razor cuts of life could be called a clean shave, if only one told the story properly." (p. 13)

I have not read this book yet. I am usually a huge fan of HC Anderson stuff. But as it is the anniversary this year (200 years) since his birth I am a little tired seeing anything else written or printed about HCA or any of his wonderful tales retold.
